About DESS
DESS has been in continuous development for over 20 years. The software was developed by Gordon Dromey PhD. in 1984 with the goal of providing leading edge tools tailored to the needs of distribution utilities. In 2009 Essex Energy acquired the DESS software from Dromey Design with the goal of further expanding the use and functionality of the software.
The current version of DESS is the result of many years of continuous development and we truly believe we can offer the easiest to use and most flexible tools available for analysis of distribution systems. Our customers include electrical utilities of differing sizes as well as engineering consultants. We have expanded from serving utilities in our home country to Canada to include customers in a number of countries around the globe.
We place a strong emphasis on customer support and take pride in the fact that the majority of our early customers are still using DESS. We don't just want to sell software, we want to help you improve your system and help you do a better job.
